Purpose: This study is to identify the role and features of Fast Reaction Units in improving and preparing the operational capability of Border Policing Command and it has two sections: First Section- Knowing most important roles of Fast Reaction Units and Second Section - knowing most important features of these units in improving and preparing the operational capability of Border Policing Command.
Method: The study is of descriptive-exploratory nature and its method is survey; Under study statistical society includes all Military commanders, managers and experts particularly top ranking commanders and vice chancellors of Naja and Border Policing Command (to obey the Info and protective issues, numbers are not mentioned) and among them 127 persons were selected in purposeful manner. Research tool is a 61-items scholar-made questionnaire and calculation is done with suitable statistical tools and descriptive and inferential tests; data were assessed by SPSS and validity of questionnaires was reviewed by content method and Cronbach’s alpha was used to determine the reliability of questionnaire.
Results and findings: Based on knowledge and prioritizing of indicators, results are in two sections as follows:
First section: The role of Fast Reaction Units, 1- among main components (force of will and analysis and intensification of enemy harms) two features of “changing active enemy to a passive one” and “fast and effective destroying of enemy” had been most important; 2- among main components (coverage and repairing of harms and improving own units), the feature of “Fast and Effective Reaction of involving units” had been most important; moreover according to the answers of answerers, among the most important roles of Fast Reaction Unit, the index of “force of will and analysis and intensification of enemy harms was ranked 1.
Second Section: The features of Fast Reaction Units, 1- among main components (personal features of Fast Reaction Units) two features of “faith, belief and martyrdom seeking ” and “courage and bravery” had been most important; 2- among main components (skill-based and technical capabilities of Fast Reaction Units), two features of “promptitude in performing due operation and decision-making power” and “skill in shooting” had been most important; 3- among main components (organizational and managerial features of Fast Reaction Units) two features of “the power of maneuver and replacement” and “Fast movement” had been most important. Moreover, based on the ideas of answerers, the most important feature among different forming indicators of Fast Reaction Units is “personal features of Fast Reaction Units” as the first priority.
